Drug intelligence / Profile preview
(2S)-2-methyl-2,3-dihydrothieno[2,3-f][1,4]oxazepin-5-amine is a small molecule experimental compound with the molecular formula C8H10N2OS and a molecular weight of 182.24 g/mol. It is characterized by a thieno[2,3-f][1,4]oxazepine core structure with a methyl group at the 2-position in the S configuration. The compound has been studied as an inhibitor of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS or NOS2), an enzyme involved in the production of nitric oxide during inflammatory responses. By inhibiting iNOS activity (IC50 ~40 nM), this molecule may modulate pathological processes where excessive nitric oxide production plays a role; however, it remains at an experimental stage and has not been approved for clinical use[3][9].
